 Dancing in Greater Seattle:

Classes for Fall 2010 are starting to be announced.  Visit this webpage again for details.

The Kirkland classes will continue as before. 

  • Tuesdays  - Seattle East Side. Intermediate & Experienced class.
     Classes begin Sept. 14th from 7:30 - 9:30 PM.  Please register at
     www.MyParksandRecreation.com  (click on Kirkland). Class fees are dictated by Parks programs.  See below for more.  If you are having a problem registering on-line, call 425-587-3336  Items 30564 and 30569.
    Eileen will be the teacher for this class.  Fees are below.
     
  • Wednesdays  - Seattle East Side.  Beginning Class.
    Classes begin Sept. 15th from 7:30 - 9:30 PM.  Please register at

  • Tuesdays - Beginning Scottish Country Dance  Class in the University District through the ASUW Experimental College, will begin in October 2010 at a new day and time.   8:00-9:30 PM.

 Summer Social Dancing 2010

Summer Social Dancing in Redmond, WA. on Sunday evenings.  
          Begins June 6 and runs through Sept. 5, excluding 4th of July.  This
          class  welcomes all levels of dancers to the Danceworks Studio,
          Redmond, WA., 16641 Redmond Way, Redmond, WA 98052, on Sunday
          evenings from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.
          Pricing:
          13 classes x $6.  for a $78. full registration
          7 classes x $7. for a $49. half registration for those doing vacations, etc.

 Seattle Summer Dancing at Phinney Neighborhood Center
          June 3, 10, 17 (Thursdays) - Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532
          Phinney Ave. N., Seattle, room 2, from 7:00 - 9:00 PM.
         June dancing will focus on dances from the Friday Harbor program
          that happens June 19.

          July 15,22,29 dancing will focus on dances that will be done for the
          "massing of the RSCDS Dancers" at the Highland Games in
          Enumclaw on July 31.  Contact Elizabeth M. at

 Challenge Class Will resume in September 2010

  • First  Friday of month Shoreline Historical Museum,   7:30 - 9:30 PM.   749 North 175th St., Shoreline, WA (North of downtown Seattle, WA.)  Live music. Information: Elinor (425) 488-7643.  Look at  the Calendar to see who the monthly musician will be.

         Passes are not applicable to this monthly event.  Class focuses on
          technique - not just "what" to do, but "how" to dance (improving

          teamwork, etc.). Participants are expected to be able to
dance
         
all steps proficiently,  readily dance all standard figures, and have been
          introduced to more advanced figures.  D
ancers should be able to do a
          dance from just a briefing. There is usually live music
. Fee for the Class is
          $9. per person per evening.

  • Mondays - Anacortes, WA. - Skagit Scottish Country Dancers.  in Anacortes at the Depot from 7 - 9 PM.  See their website for more info.

     
  • Thursdays - Seattle, WA. - Step Dancing Beginner Class from 8:00 - 9:00 PM at Phinney Neighborhood Center, Room 2.  Classes begin Sept. 16, 2010  and run through December 16 (except Thanksgiving) . Contact Elizabeth M. bdinfo@rscds-seattle.org  Cost is determined by class size.

  • Tacoma - Fridays at the Normanna Hall has had to cancel its classes for this fall 2010.Keep in touch with the Enumclaw group and  Dawn Webster Williams to see if there will be future classes scheduled.

Class Fees for Seattle Branch Classes:

Kirkland Class:

Fall  2010

Register at www.MyParksandRecreation.com  (click on Kirkland). Class fees are dictated by Parks programs.  See below for more.  If you are having a problem registering on-line, call 425-587-3336  Items 30564 and 30569.

Register 6 weeks at a time: Kirkland residents $48./non-resident $58.  There will be a drop-in rate of $9. for Kirkland resident/non-resident rate $11.  Pre-registering makes class start easier and lets Parks people know there are enough to continue.

For all other classes, inquire from the instructor as to the prices.

*Branch Member price applies to members of the RSCDS (through any branch or through headquarters) or any affiliated group. See the membership section  for more information.

Classes for the whole year generally run from September  through May, with quarter breaks in late December and mid March unless as noted.

Monthly Dances & Special Events Fees:

Fees are the same for members and non-members. 

Monthly Dances with recorded music fee: $10.00

Monthly Dance with live music fee:  $14.00 (except Burns night)

Burns Night:  $12.00 for all adults.  Teens will be $10.00.  Children 6-12 will be $6.00.  Under 6 yrs are no charge.  Contact the Branch chairman via email  president@rscds-seattle.org  if you wish further direct information.
