May 2011 - The RSCDS-Seattle Branch granted a Life Membership to Dub Fortenberry in recognition of over 4 decades as a member, participant and contributor.   Dub has been the inspiration of many dancers in the Northwest, continuing to join the Branch at events.

Benefits of RSCDS Seattle Branch Membership: 

Joining the RSCDS helps keep you informed of activities. Some other benefits you receive with your membership are:

  1. Discounts at branch functions, such as workshops and monthly dances.

  2. Cue Sheets are replaced this calendar year by crib sheets for each event, found on the Calendar webpage for each event.  They may be printed for your use.

  3. The Puget Scot, the Seattle branch newsletter.

  4. The membership list, with names and addresses of branch members. (Having your address in the list is optional.) Published in the autumn.

  5. The satisfaction of being part of a worldwide cultural society with a long history of preserving the camaraderie and beauty of traditional Scottish dance.

  6. The right to vote in election of Branch officers, and other business, at the Annual General Meeting and to hold office in the Seattle Branch.

  7. The year's Subscription Book, published by the RSCDS, containing dance descriptions and music for 8 to 12 dances if made.

  8. The RSCDS Directory, which lists contact information for RSCDS branches all over the world, and the RSCDS Bulletin, containing news of the society, advertisements for dance workshops, dance tours, and merchants selling ghillies, kilts, etc.

The membership form can be located at this page top.   It is in Adobe Acrobat Format (.pdf) format (You can download a free Acrobat Reader from Adobe).   Print the forms, fill them in and mail to the address shown on the form with your check.

We have a new membership chairperson that you can contact for further information.  Charliann has begun her position with RSCDS a little early to help with transitioning.   Click on membership@RSCDS-SEATTLE.ORG  to contact her if you need help.  Welcome Charliann.

Seattle branch membership chair for many years was Clark Cavin who passed away several months ago, 2012.   In our Photo Gallery, there are additional pictures of the Branch celebration of Clark's life.

Are you looking for scholarship help from the Branch?

RSCDS-Seattle Branch  is now offering a way to be considered for a partial or full scholarship for Branch events. Guidelines have been established for applying and an application is available to fill in, save and email off.  Note that March 20 is the deadline for getting an application in for the March 30 2013 Workshop.
